The majority of residents in TP work for and live in Pilbara Iron owned accommodation. The shire and other companies own residential housing. Privately own dwellings are a minority.
Rental housing is significant and this pool of houses is predominantly owned by Hamersley Iron. PI have a large budget allocated to housing maintenance and improvement and currently this program is running at a historically high level.
The housing situation in tom Price is currently difficult. The demand for housing has left the rental market very short. New non-PI residents wishing to rent should contact the rental agent. |
